Founder

Nicholas Martin-Jones is the founder of Poseidon Performance. A former Royal Marines Commando Physical Training Instructor with a vast experience in performance coaching and exercise rehabilitation. Nicholas has worked with Middle Eastern Royal Families, Formula One drivers, Olympic medalists, World Champion Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athletes, Tier 1 U.K. Special Forces, Master of Sport of the USSR and actors preparing for major roles. Nicholas will ensure individuals reach their optimal performance.

Nicholas served for 22 years in the U.K Royal Marines with 17 of those as a Physical Training Instructor. In 2004 he joined the world renowned Joint Service School of Exercise Rehabilitation at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre - Headley Court where he began his journey in the field of exercise based therapy. After graduation from St Mary’s University with a BSc First Class Honours in Sports Rehabilitation he went on to attain an MSc in Strength and Conditioning. 

He has worked for a range of clients and organisations including Tier 1 Special Force (Special Boat Service) and Olympic medalist winning athletes,. To private individuals with a range of injuries treating both pre/post surgical procedures such as hip replacements and ACL reconstructions.

The most challenging but most rewarding role for Nicholas was his role as Head of Rehabilitation combined with the Exercise Rehabilitation Specialist Advisor for the Royal Marines at the Complex Trauma Unit (Hasler Company) set up for the elite Royal Marines Commando and Special Forces who had sustained life changing injuries and conditions from operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. 

This was a highly unique environment which proved to be an excellent training ground both professionally and emotionally. From this experience, Poseidon Performance was born.

Following a successful 22 year career within HM Royal Marine Commandos at Senior Non-Commissioned Officer rank. Nicholas was employed on the private staff for the Court of the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain. He then became Head of Strength and Conditioning and Sports Rehabilitation at the Bahrain National Jiu Jitsu Training Centre. Where he successfull trained several multiple BJJ World champions.
